Wikimapia is like a web based google earth + wiki. You may only use it to search the maps that have been already marked with place name and description, or you may add your own description to the unmark place in the map.

To add a place, just follow carefully the step by step guide from Matt Jones Blog.

The steps are pretty simple, just plot your location, add title, description & category and wait for the approval. That’s it, as long as you didn’t add any silly info, they will approve your request.

For all my friends who wanted to pay me a visit, I have added the place I stay in wikimapia, so it will be easier for you guys to find me

How to use Wikimapia to find ME:

Steps

1.) Browse to www.wikimapia.org and enter “chenhow” in the search box located at the top right corner.

2.) And you will be able to see “Block 405, Tampines Street 41. Chen How home” from the search result. Click on it.

3.) Tada! Here is where I’m currently staying. Click on the marked area to see the full address of my place.
